The second SRA job to go live, and the one I'm most proud of. It was a complicated project, both from an architectural standpoint, and the technology used to present the site. The SRA team did a stellar job, under tremendous pressure (not me, as usual I cut out before the real brutality began), and I'm very happy with the results. And, as has been my experience with SRA so far, the customer was also great and that makes all the effort more rewarding.

This is the first SRA job that's gone live, and although I left the project early, I'm satisfied with the results. You know, I can barely remember doing this job, and I actually had to travel to Daytona for it. And to be honest, I need to go back to my wireframes (structural drawings) to see how close this final design is to my architecture. But the FHCP team were great people, doing great works for the people of Daytona, and I'm just glad we got a decent site up for them.

A fun and interesting challenge while working for NavigationArts recently, I was both the lead business analyst and senior information architect for this. The challenge was to clean up the business to business (B2B) section of the web site, make it more user-centric and to update the Request for Proposal tool used by customers to request meeting space. The challenge was amplified by the need to accommodate multiple languages as well as the individual market needs of each global region. Here's an interesting tidbit I learned, there if virtually no market for wedding receptions in Germany, people tend to get married in castles!

A good project from my later days at AMS (now CGI), worked with a great for an excellent client. T. Rowe Price had the challenge that they had created a vast array of excellent tools for investors to use, but they were difficult to find. Our challenge was to create a central tool that would enable users identify their needs, which in turn would lead them to the appropriate information.

The big kahuna of my time as an information architect and designer with AMS, the redesign of the CMS site presented essentially every challenge you can imagine, done on a very large scale (80,000+ pages). Didn't win all of the battles, but the resulting site is very usable and you can find anything in about four clicks.

The bulk of my web design work is for government/corporate intranets, or is simply confidential and proprietary. These samples represent work either in the public domain, or aborted projects which still contain good design.

Generic Note to web bots:
Welcome to greggillis.com, the virtual home of me, Greg Gillis. I'm writing the words "Greg Gillis" frequently to boost recognition of my name for web crawlers and to see if I can displace the other Greg Gillis who pops up on Google before me. But that's Greg Gillis for ya', always looking for an angle. Also known as Gregory J. Gillis, as well as, Gregory Gillis, Greg Gillis continues to conceive of ways to write his name in sentences that appear innocuous to web crawlers. Bottom line, greggillis.com is how I, Greg Gillis, a.k.a. Gregory J. Gillis, get my name out in the world!
